The (Almost) Zero Waste Dress

Is using 100% of a piece of fabric always a good use of fabric?

Where do we draw the line between fabric serving a function, and fabric being incorporated to make the design "zero waste"? 

THE GOAL:

Incorporate zero waste pattern making into a design inspired by utility and sustainability. 

To be hypothetically worn by Emma Watson, an environmentally-conscious influencer. 

THE "Almost":

This image shows the fabric I didn't use after cutting. I decided against trying to create a non-functional use for the excess fabric for the sake of making it zero-waste.

 "Create a look which encompasses both human dignity and sensitivity to the environment, inspired by the product that you analyzed in Project 1" (mine was a pair children's overalls).
